Tristen Harwood is an Indigenous art writer and a lecturer at the Victorian College of the Arts. He is a PhD candidate at RMIT, researching the entwined histories of carceralism and art. Tristen is a contributing editor at MeMo and a member of the Plumwood Committee. His most recent book is Variations: A More Diverse Picture of Contemporary Art (2023), co-edited and authored with Grace McQuilten and Anthony White. His writing has been published in The New York Times Style Magazine, ArtReview, Artlink, Overland Journal, un Magazine, The Saturday Paper, Art Monthly Australasia, Art + Australia, and others.
